Life Technologies (now Thermo Fisher Scientific) asked us to automate the generation of weekly sales reports from all managers across the nation… without significantly changing the delivery process (email).
For the regional managers…
We standardized and fool-proofed the Excel template the managers use to deliver the data. This involved:
- protecting sensitive cells
- adding data validation
- and ‘prettying up’ the workbook to be intuitive and user friendly
We also added a feature that automatically emails the information directly to the analysts at headquarters. The managers now enter data and push a button.
For the central analysts…
We created a workbook that automatically procures the managers’ messages directly from the analysts’ email. It then transfers the information from the attachments into a central datastore and creates a variety of reports.
The analysts now push a button and reports are automatically generated.
